Domani la corte di giustizia europea deciderà sui contributi (399 milioni ?) ricevuti dalla VW per due fabbriche in Sassonia.
I commenti saranno sicuramente di due tipi:

1. queste cose succedono anche in Germania
2. quanti miliardi avrà mai ricevuto la Fiat?

Luxemburg. Der Europäische Gerichtshof entscheidet an diesem Dienstag (30.9.) über Millionenbeihilfen für zwei Volkswagen-Werke in Sachsen. Die Richter müssen klären, ob VW insgesamt 399 Millionen Euro staatliche Gelder für die Werke Mosel II und Chemnitz II erhalten darf. Die EU-Kommission hatte 1996 diesen Betrag auf 276 Millionen Euro gekürzt. Dagegen hatten die Bundesregierung, der Freistaat Sachsen und VW geklagt, waren in erster Instanz aber gescheitert. Nun wird der Gerichtshof über die Revision entscheiden.

Die Chancen für VW stehen allerdings nicht gut: Ein Gutachter des Gerichts hatte während des Prozesses bereits empfohlen, die Berufung abzulehnen. Das Gericht folgt in der Regel diesem Gutachten. Erst vor zwei Wochen hatte der EU-Gerichtshof über Volkswagen wegen verbotener Marktabschottung eine Strafe von 90 Millionen Euro verhängt. Die Richter bestätigten damit die Strafe der EU-Kommission. Der Konzern habe in den 90er Jahren systematisch deutsche Kunden am Kauf preisgünstiger VW- und Audi-Wagen in Italien gehindert, lautete das Urteil. comunque il riassunto l'avevo fatto.
L'articolo parlava solo che oggi ci sarà (dopo controllo) la decisione e aggiungeva che già in passato (ti ricordi la notizia di qualche settimana fà) la VW era stata condannata a pagare una multa di 90 milioni di ? per aver impedito ai tedeschi di comperare auto in Italia dove la VW vendeva ad un prezzo inferiore rispetto alla germania.

In poche parole invece di prendere dallo stato  399 milioni di Euro ne potrà ricevere solo 276 milioni.

EU court upholds bar on VW aid in eastern Germany

LUXEMBOURG (Reuters) - The European Union's top court on Tuesday upheld a ban on German government subsidies to Volkswagen AG to build car plants in east Germany in the 1990s.

The European Commission's competition watchdog in 1996 blocked 240 million Deutschmarks of state subsidies. The EU's Court of First Instance supported the decision in 1999, saying that Europe already was building too many cars.

The lower court added that Germany did not have a blanket right to give money to East Germany, where communist-era Trabant cars could not compete with western vehicles. The European Court of Justice said that it confirmed the lower court's decision.

A Volkswagen spokesman said the decision would have no financial impact. The decision did not harm VW shares.

"The judgment will have no effect on VW's results and no practical consequences," said the spokesman.

EU court backs EU Commission fine against Michelin

LUXEMBOURG (Reuters) - The Court of First Instance ruled on Tuesday that the European Commission's 2001 fine against tire maker Michelin of 19.76 million euros ($16.87 million) is correct.

"The Court of First Instance upholds the Commission's decision to fine Michelin for practices which are unfair to its dealers," the court said.

The Commission imposed the fine against Michelin for its tire replacement practices for heavy vehicles in France during the 1990s.

The European Commission had ruled that Michelin "abused its dominant position" between 1990 and 1998 as its policies for retread and new replacement tires had kept dealers in close interdependence and prevented them from choosing suppliers freely.

"Michelin's complex system of quantitative rebates, bonuses and other commercial practices illegally tied dealers and foreclosed the French market to other tire manufacturers," the Commission said in its June 20, 2001 decision.

Michelin disagreed arguing that the Commission's concept of "abuse of dominant position" used by the Commission had no equivalent in the United States or Japanese markets where its rivals are dominant.
