Sì, noi usiamo lo stesso termine sia per intendere l'idioma che per intendere il muscolo, chiedevo se è la stessa cosa per loro.
Ho letto sempre "language" ma mai "tongue" in questi contesti.

Le calcolano o le misurano? Chiedo, eh, perchè non lo so ...

Bravo, ho fatto come te, non ho calcolato una fava, ma dato che io la stechiometria la so, e so anche un po' più di chimica di te, mi sono accorto, per i motivi che ti ho detto, che quei numeri lì non sono giusti.

Spero che le misurino, come si fa ad essere sicuri che le ipotesi per il calcolo reggano, tanto per dire quanta CO e quanta CO2 esce dipende da quanto bene funziona il catalizzatore, per esempio.
In quanto alla ormai generalizzata esibizione delle capacità linguistiche nell'idioma della perfida Albione, mi limito a un Biscardiano "Deng iuu"

Allora, dipende per cosa intendiamo per "misurano".
Io per "misurare" intendo che c'è uno strumento che misura direttamente la grandezza. es...un termometro misura la temperatura.
Per la CO2 non esiste una cosa simile, la si ricava (si calcola) partendo dalle misurazioni di CO, HC e consumo.
Non ci metto però la mano sul fuoco.....mi riservo di controllare meglio andando a cercare il materiale specifico che ho a casa

Ok, quindi qualcosa si deve misurare, non è che trac, fai quattro conticini stechiometrici (sballati) come quelli riportati più sopra .....

I conti stechiometrici si fanno, ma un pelo più complessi
Si mettono nel conto appunto anche la CO e gli HC....ovvero si tiene conto dell'imperfetta combustione...

Confesso che non mi ricordo assolutamente come e se si tiene conto della composizione della benzina.

Ok, allora diciamo che viene calcolata a partire da grandezze misurate sperimentalmente su un percorso simulato su banco a rulli.  Di recente 4r ha descritto (e contestato) tale procedura, che viene attuata con velocità e soprattutto accelerazioni ridicole ed assolutamente staccate dalla realtà.

Bon, quindi si misura. Se devo misurare la distanza tra la terra e la luna, sparo un laser sullo specchio lasciato da qualche missione Apollo e aspetto il fascio riflesso. Misuro un tempo, non una distanza, ma sempre di misura si tratta .....

ma tra l'altro..nel discorso "calcolo" , se non ricordo male i risultati sono diversi a seconda delle ipotesi: ciclo ideale, ciclo reale..dissociazione etc..

in sintesi..(nel senso di riassunto  ) se "butto li" nel calcolo che ho TOT di Carbonio e quindi ossidandolo tutto mi viene fuori TOT di CO2...insomma..non proprio cosi..ma come diceva TonyH ci sono gli HC , la supercazzola etc...etc..

Comunque, ripeto, il punto non mi sembra essere chi ha prodotto quel kg in più di CO2...ma la "sensatezza" del confronto..
