http://www.carscoops.com/2014/09/nhtsa-recalls-ferrari-458-because-you.html
We know you might have a hard time believing it, but it's true: the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is recalling the Ferrari 458 in the States because a person can get trapped in the boot.
In NHTSA's own words:
"The secondary latch for the front trunk storage compartment may not release when the vehicle is stationary. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 401, 'Interior Trunk Release'."
"In the event an individual is trapped in the trunk and the latch system does not release the trunk lid, it increases the risk of personal injury or possibly death."
Now, from watching so many films with Jonathan Statham and Liam Nelson, we understand the need for such a system in an Audi A8 or a Cadillac DTS, but who in the world would ever place himself or someone else in the trunk of Ferrari 458?
Have you ever seen the boot of a Ferrari 458? It's that small compartment up front that other, regular cars call a bonnet, and according to the Italians, it has a capacity of 8.12 cu ft (230 liters).
In all fairness, we can find some reasoning in NHTSA's recall, as a kid could somehow squeeze in there.
Anywho, the safety agency said the recall concerns certain model 2010-2014MY Ferrari 458 Italia coupes and Spiders made from March 5, 2010, to May 20, 2013.

Nano? Hobbit?
