Qualche notizia in più riguardo al richiamo nissan:
Wheels24 reported yesterday, the Japanese manufacturer is recalling 2.56-million vehicles globally due to an engine defect.
The defect was found inside a sensor in the engine that could lead to a short-circuit and stop the engine from working. There have been no reports of accidents caused by the problem.
Nissan SA spokesman Peter Burroughes said there was no cause for concern.
Contact owners
"As soon as we find out which cars are affected we will contact owners and ask them to bring in their cars to have the problem rectified," he said.
He said Nissan would also issue a statement about which cars are involved so owners can come forward.
"We are told the fault will take less than an hour to fix, and that it is definitely not a life or death problem," he said.
According to a report issued in Japan, the recall affects cars manufactured between 1998 and May 2003.
Cars on the list which might be affected are Nissan Almera, Primera and X-Trail, but it is not yet known whether the specific engine types ever came to this country.
A Nissan Japan spokeswoman said the cost of the recall had been factored into profit forecasts for the business year to next March. Some of the cost will be shared by parts makers, she said.
